With the world finally opening up after facing tumultuous times, our hunger to bring the community back together for an event was growing. The opportunity to celebrate Vans’ iconic Checkerboard Day came up and we jumped at it.
We set up the crowd-favourite Khar Social with checkerboard branded decor and the show was a full house. A sneaker customization masterclass with Che from CheLabs saw people channelling their creative best. Tapping into everyone’s inner child, a bespoke claw machine was filled with Superkicks and Vans merch with all to play for.
To add some jive and jolt to the night, two of the finest DJs in the hip hop scene, put on a show to die for. The highlight of the night was a pop-up market featuring the best homegrown brands from across the country.
Vans’ Checkerboard Day was celebrated in fine style and we look forward to hosting many more events for our awesome community.
