A visual recap of Air Max Day and a Superkicks tribute to freedom of movement, expression and all things Air Max.
Every year we celebrate the Air Max lineage in all its glory, but 2025 has taken a new direction altogether. As we have made our own space as a catalyst in the indie music scene with Co-sign- the next step forward was helping people create amazing things from scratch.
The track and the people
Hence, we launched Project Air.WAV- producing a track that feels like a vibrant soundscape, sonically layered with bits and pieces of India, packaged in the raw street style of Baile Funk. While Dhiraaj and 3BHK produced the genre bending track, 3 talented rappers - Tienas, Fenifina and RAK infused English, Hindi/Marathi and Tamil verses thematically exploring freedom, expression, movement and identity.
The Journey of Air.WAV
The track found its origins with Dhiraaj’s sonic experiments which immediately created the bouncy hook with a mix of regional Indian instruments. 3BHK’s deep rooted influences polished the groove towards further maturity. Following the production, Tienas and RAK penned their verses in English and Tamil. And the final piece of the puzzle was Fenifina's fusion of her Marathi & Canadian roots.
This roster of 2 producers and 3 rappers created a global yet interestingly Indian sound, all while adhering to the Air Max legacy of vibrance, movement, and freedom of expression.
Air Max Day
On Air Max Day, we joined forces with Mazi Coffee and Ironbuzz Tattoos for the launch and listening session of the track. The night was kicked off with the screening of the Air.WAV documentary- the visual diary of the core idea and journey of the project.
After the listening session, Superkicks’ in house talent hopped onto the console to take charge of the night. Huge thanks to everyone who brought this idea to life. And the biggest shoutout to our community who showed up at the event. This wouldn’t have been possible without you.
